Untuk proses Pemutakhiran data ini setiap PNS memulai dengan melakukan pendaftaran melalui website e-PUPNS http://pupns.bkn.go.id, setelah pendaftaran diterima, PNS login ke website e-PUPNS untuk melakukan pemeriksaan data yang tersedia dalam database kepegawaian BKN dan selanjutnya PNS melakukan perbaikan data yang tidak sesuai serta menambahkan/melengkapi data yang belum lengkap/tersedia di database BKN.
Dasar Hukum PUPNS 2015:
1. Undang-Undang Nomor 5 Tahun 2014 tentang Aparatur Sipil Negara;
2. Peraturan Kepala Badan Kepegawaian Negara Nonor 19 Tahun 2015 Tanggal 22 Mei 2015 Tentang Pedoman Pelaksanaan Pendataan Ulang Pegawai Negeri Sipil Secara Elektronik Tahun 2015(e-PUPNS2015).
Tujuan PUPNS 2015:
1. Untuk memperoleh data yang akurat, terpercaya, sebagau dasar kebutuhan dalam mengembangkan sistem informasi kepegawaian ASN yang mendukung pengelolaan manajemen ASN yang rasional sebagai sumber daya aparatur negara.
2. Membangun kepedulian dan kepemilikan (sense of awarnes/ownership) PNS terhadap data kepegawaiannya.
Siapa saja yang wajib melakukan PUPNS 2015:
PUPNS 2015 wajib diikuti oleh seluruh Calon/Pegawai Negeri Sipil (CPNS/PNS) Republik Indonesia baik yang bertugas di dalam maupun luar negeri, dengan masa aktif sampai dengan 01 Juli 2015
Sanksi bagi PNS yang tidak mengikuti PUPNS 2015:
• Tidak tercatat dalam database ASN Nasional di BKN;
• Tidak akan mendapatkan layanan kepegawaian;
• Akan dinyatakan berhenti atau pensiun.

o Riwayat Kepgangkatan/Golongan
o Riwayat Pendidikan

Bagi anda yang akan mendaftarkan diri di PUPNS pada September 2015 ini, lebih baik ikuti beberapa informasi penting yang telah BKN umumkan. Informasi pendataan PUPNS dilakukan agar semua elemen yang terkait lebih nyaman dan lebih baik.

- Pastikan Email yang digunakan untuk mendaftar PUPNS jangan digunakan untuk Sosial Media, jangan sampai informasi yang dikirim Oleh BKN Pusat tercampur dengan informasi dari sosial Media sehingga mempersulit anda.
- Untuk sementara Apakah Akses Penginputan itu Serentak, atau PerInstansi, atau perwilayah, masih dilakukan evaluasi tetang kemampuan server Pusat.
- Tunggu Perintah, Sembari menunggu silahkan Baca-baca dulu Tata cara pengerjaan, dan siapkan Berkas, baik berupa Hasil scan.
- Dibolehkan anda meminta orang lain membantu mengerjaakan, jika dirasa anda tidak mampu mengerjakan, diutamakan Keluarga, agar kerahasiaan data anda terjaga. Baca juga : BKD, PNS atau OPS yang akan mengerjakan.
- Tetap lakukan update perubahan data jika jika nanti ada perubahan.
- Usahakan EMAIL dan NO Hp selalu aktif, jika sewaktu waktu nanti Pihak BKN menghubungi anda.
