Tidak hanya itu, beasiswa tersebut juga menanggung biaya pembuatan visa bagi mereka yang memilih kuliah di luar negeri. Meski berasal dari pemerintah, para penerima beasiswa LPDP tidak memiliki ikatan dinas yang harus disepakati terlebih dulu.
LPDP menyediakan lima jenis beasiswa, yaitu Beasiswa Magister-Doktor, Beasiswa Afirmasi, Beasiswa Tesis dan Disertasi, Beasiswa Spesialis Kedokteran, dan Beasiswa Presiden. Beasiswa tersebut juga tersedia untuk berbagai bidang ilmu. Mulai dari Teknik, Sains, Pertanian, Akuntansi/Keuangan, Hukum, Agama, Kedokteran, Ekonomi, Sosial, dan Budaya.
LPDP membuka empat periode seleksi setiap tahun, yakni Maret, Juni, September, dan Desember. Tertarik untuk mendaftar? Cermati syarat yang harus dipenuhi oleh pelamar, seperti dilansir dari laman Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Senin (1/9/2014).
- Merupakan WNI dengan identitas kependudukan sah.
- Lulusan program studi perguruan tinggi dalam negeri terakreditasi BAN-PT maupun perguruan tinggi luar negeri yang telah diakui sesuai Dikti.
- Berjiwa kepemimpinan dan berpengalaman aktif dalam organisasi.
- Menandatangani surat pernyataan. Surat pernyataan tersebut meliputi, tidak pernah terlibat tindakan melanggar hukum, tidak pernah terlibat dalam tindak oelanggaran kode etik akademik, tidak menerima beasiswa dari sumber lain, seta bersedia mengabdi kepada kepentingan bangsa Indonesia.
- Mendapatkan Surat Izin Belajar dari Atasan bagi yang sedang bekerja.
- Memiliki Surat Keterangan/ Reomendasi dari tokoh masyarakat bagi yang belum/ sedang tidak bekerja.
- Memilih program studi dan/atau perguruan tinggi yang direferensikan oleh LPDP (daftar bisa dilihat pada (www.lpdp.depkeu.go.id).
Persyaratan khusus lainnya adalah batas usia maksimal 35 tahun dan IPK 3.00 untuk program magister dan IPK 3,25 untuk program doktor. Disyaratkan pula kemampuan berbahasa Inggris dengan nilai TOEFL ITP: 550/IELTS: 6.5/TOEFL IBT:7.9 untuk berkuliah di luar negeri.
Setelah melalui tahap pendaftaran secara online, kemudian dilaksanaan pemeriksaan berkas pendaftaran. Setelah itu dokumen akan dinilai dan dilanjutkan ke tahap wawancara. Pada tahap akhir, pelamar beasiswa akan diikutsertakan ke dalam pelatihan kepemimpinan untuk mencapai visi LPDP, yaitu mencetak pemimpin masa depan mulai dari pemimpin privat, pemimpin komunitas, maupun pemimpin bagi Indonesia.
